Youth Vocal Training
Singing Lessons
Lessons are offered for children ages 7-17 at all experience levels.
Music written for young people can be challenging, so it’s important to learn healthy technique to limit strain and navigate high, complex musical phrases with ease.
While the main focus is building technique, performance coaching is naturally included, as singing with expression supports vocal freedom.
Areas of focus include:
Breath control
Pitch range development
Vocal stamina and stability
Seamless transition between registers
Emotional expression and interpretation
Body awareness and physical engagement

Yes and no! I place a strong emphasis on building sustainable, healthy vocal technique to support a lifetime of singing - and healthy singing is usually the best path to sounding your best. Vocal health education is naturally included.
We work on technique through both vocal exercises and songs, and performance coaching is also integrated, since confidence and artistic expression strongly influence the voice.
I also help students build vocal problem-solving skills so they can become more independent and confident in their practice over time. (I often say, my goal is for students to “need me” less and less!)
Reading music and music theory are not a primary focus.

I focus on helping young singers understand and take ownership of their voice. Lessons emphasize building problem-solving skills so students can learn to monitor their voice and make adjustments independently.
I place a strong emphasis on efficient, thoughtful practice so that progress carries into performance. Confidence is also an important part of the process. When young singers feel supported and capable, they are better able to use their voice freely.
“Last night she felt like she could sing and says it felt a lot better…
…wanted to update you, — is in tech this week. She said it actually felt good! The music director said she sounded good too. I CANNOT thank you enough for all that you do. Your kindness, understanding, and encouragement were felt deeply.
We absolutely love you and are so thankful to have you!!!”
